It’s no secret I love me some Mass Effect. I’ve played it through twice and am well on my way through it a third time. I love this game. The italics should tell you that. They are slanted. Slanted means serious business. So when I saw today that the iPhone was getting an a game set in the Mass Effect universe I was more then over joyed. I had to reach for a towel.
To me the expansion of the Mass Effect universe beyond the Shepard story line is both an awesome idea and a necessary one. The universe Bioware created is one of the richest and best universe’s I’ve ever seen. It’s up there with Star Wars, Star Trek and Babylon 5.
Yes it only took me three days to mention Babylon 5 here.
By moving away from Shepard storyline it opens up the entire universe to exploration. It opens up the franchise to glorious expansion. Though I don’t want some watered down RTS prequel. What I want is seemingly what we are getting. A new story about saving the whole galaxy. Maybe new villians? New planets? Aliens? Elevator rides?
In any case I’m foaming at the mouth for this game. So much so I don’t even care that this is a thinly veiled attempt at EA to get around their exclusive contract with Microsoft. And that said attempt has landed the game on an Apple device of all things.
