I didn’t play very many NES games when I was little. I just played what was lying around the house when my older brother wasn’t around. I’ve missed out on a lot of great games.
When an old game comes out again I get a little curious. When I heard about A Boy and His Blob I instantly thought I wanted to play this game. However when I read the word Wii I got a little disappointed.
I’m not a big Wii fan. I feel like the Wii is a party machine and that is it. I’ve tried to play normal games on it like Zack and Wiki but I shortly put the controller down. Maybe this game will open my eyes to the Wii. Also when you own all 3 next-gen consoles it is hard to buy a game for the Wii when you can have it for the 360 and be an a massive achievement whore.
It is interesting to note that the game developer decide to leave out the main draw to the Wii, the motion controls.
“We didn’t feel it was necessary for this game, so we didn’t shoehorn it in.” – Director of A Boy and His Blob Sean Velasco
With that in mind I’m going to be all over this game. I find the motion controls for the Wii to be annoying. I rather be gaming on a controller then using a wobbly dot.
Don’t get me wrong the motion controls are fun in games such as Boom Blox, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, and Smooth Moves. I feel that the motion control for these games brings a bit of the arcade feel home.
There are two things that draw my attention to this game one being the hand drawn art and the other being the blob.
The artwork in this game looks sick.

Being a girl makes me inherently gobble up cute shit like a fat heifer at a grand buffet. I mean look at that thing. Is that a bad guy? It’s cute as a mofo and now you’re going to make me feel bad for killing it? WTF mate.
The little blob reminds me a lot of the little white totoro. I just want to hold him in my arms and squeeze him till he suffocates. Then slowly cry my self to sleep for killing the cutest living thing alive. Then repeat the process when Paul gets me a new one.
I love the idea that the blob can turn into many different things to help you on your way, be it a trampoline, umbrella, ladder, anvil, dildo, or your mom.
I’m definitely a platform gamer and this one appeals to all my senses.
