Alan Wake looks awesome. Everything that I can find about the game makes it look stellar. The game, for those of you who don’t know, is basically John Candy’s Delirious but serious. So I don’t know about you but I’m sold. I want this game. I want to be either utterly disappointed by it or so enthralled that I declare it the greatest game of all time.
The game was announced in May 2005. It is now May 2009.
After four years next to nothing is known about the game except that it looks pretty. There’s been some speculation that Alan Wake will be the big game Microsoft pulls out for E3. That a release date will finally be announced for the game. My guess? November. I mean why not, there’s already 79 other games coming out then why not go for the even 80.
But if no new information comes out on it I think it’s time we, the internet, declare it the new vaporware king. I know four years isn’t a super long time for a game to be in development but when two scheduled releases have already passed and when a new screen shot hits it’s counted as breaking news, the game is quickly becoming vapor. Which saddens me because it’s one hot looking new IP. I want to go to there. So I hope we hear something at E3. Something substantial.
Or else we got a new Duke Nukem Forever to look forward to never playing.
