What some would consider the worst part of E3 others would consider the very best. Since this year marks the big return of E3 it also marks the return of its most sexist yet awesome tradition. The Booth Babe. Booth Babe’s serve an important function at all conventions but E3 is to booth babes as Las Vegas is to strippers. While at the NYCC I saw a few booth babes and introduced my family to this convention phenomenon. They didn’t quite see the purpose of them. But they aren’t for people like us, nerds who aren’t sad.

I like to put myself in the mind of Booth Babes, especially those at E3. Since the show is in LA the venue is filled with failed actresses, models and strippers. Yes strippers who don’t take their clothes off. It is a family show you know. So Booth Babes are back, and with it all of the trappings. IGN will have some feature picking out the hottest booth babe at the show when they should be reporting how the motion plus actually works. Or how the motion controls for the PS3 and Xbox work. You know, real news. Instead we will be seeing tons of cosplay images with fake boobies.

Actually that doesn’t sound that bad….

Anyway the devil channel that is G4 is apparently having a booth at E3. Why? Who the fuck knows why, they are a TV channel that doesn’t even make games. They barely report on them yet they are going have a mega booth. So with any mega booth you need some eye candy to distract from the fact that you are announcing and showing off nothing. Being the progressive media thinker they are, they have asked us, the Internet, for help in choosing their Booth Babes. Please choose wisely because you are encouraging this behavior from game companies and the Booth Babes drug addiction.
