I dunno if anyone wants to see this demo as it may spoil things for the upcoming blockbuster that is Bioshock 2. My feeling after watching it is that I don’t think it gives anything away that any player won’t figure out after playing for ten minutes. Frankly the first game is one of those games that is just incredible and I think the sequel will be just as good. But I will reiterate that the video will probably spoil something from the game.

It’s a pretty big video so give it a minute to load first before playing!

I don’t know how I feel about adopting the Little Sisters and then protecting them, and I can’t harvest them because even though it’s just a video game, doing it would make me feel incredibly guilty. This looks a lot like the last (or one of the last?) level/s in Bioshock, the one where you had to become a Big Daddy, and I absolutely hated that. The perimeters and being able to use the Big Daddies’ weapons might make it a little more palatable, but still, I really, really hated that level so much that the idea of playing a Big Daddy for seemingly the whole game is a huge turn-off for me.

I also tend to hate underwater levels in pretty much every game I’ve ever played that utilized them, so while the idea of exploring the ocean might be exciting to some people, it’s definitely a drawback for me. What lay outside of Rapture never really crossed my mind; it’s a freaking ocean, so what?

I guess none of those things really matter, though. I liked the first one a lot, but it still scared the bejesus out of me. Even if this looked stellar, it would probably take me a long time to psych myself up enough to submit myself to leaving the lights on and still jumping out of my skin every time I heard one of my neighbors make noise.
