So via their twitter feed Game Informer let it slip that a new Max Payne is coming and it looks like life hasn’t been too kind to the hero. He now looks like I will at age 31. Or Jeff Daniels from Iron Man. Take your pick.

Anyway while the original games where well received and big hits it has been a while since the sequel came out. I’m all for ‘classic’ series getting modern sequels or updates, don’t get me wrong. I just saw this cover and all I got was a big meh. A really big meh. Am I way off base here? Anyway click on the thumbnail to see a biggie size version of the cover.

    They took a gritty, noir anti-hero and made him a grittier, noirier, antier-hero… with no hair and a beard. Max Payne hasn’t been the same for me since he lost the “I’m taking a shit” expression from the original Max Payne. I’m holding out judgement until I at least get some screenshots though. ANYTHING has to be better than Mark Wahlberg talks to criminals!

    The more I look at this the more I think it is ultra lame. It makes me think that Rockstar is almost a one trick pony. I used to think that they were a premier developer but in truth they beat the cash cow that was GTA to death and have very few other offerings that are noteworthy.
