Okay, I feel like I need to preface this weeks post with a disclaimer. Any similarity between the design style of Tumbledrop and YOUR FAVORITE VIDEO GAME BLOG is purely COINCIDENTAL! Seriously though, this game is pretty and I swear to god I didn’t steal the art direction. I’m just awesome at making things that are popular and awesome looking okay? FOR REAL THO!

I digress…

So this week we have Tumbledrop as our weekly Monday web game. A cute little game about pink stars and some stupid yellow shapes that no one cares about. Seriously, yellows are expendable, they can fall in the water and no one will miss them. The sun still shines, the waves still crash on the shores and life goes on and on into infinity, amen.

Built with the Unity game engine — a low impact engine used for web games and games for the iTouch and iPhone — means you’ll have to download and install a plug-in for your platform and browser of choice. (Sorry Linux.) You can do that here.

As a game, Tumbledrop is pretty straightforward. You make some blocks disappear and try to get the pink star to fall safely on the island. The physics are actually quite good. Each shape has a nice weight to it. Also, Bonus Level officially approves of the art direction, in case you didn’t notice.

It’s about 20 levels long and could take you about 15 minutes to finish. Short and sweet, it’s our Oompa Loompa offering this week. (Semi rhyme unintentional.)

You kids have fun now.

I just noticed that you put the game on the computer screen in the main graphic. Nice!
