WoW-Sam_Raimi

The San Diego (German for whales vagina) Comic-Con starts today and the con’s first big news just broke across the internets. Aint it Cool News is reporting that Sam Raimi has been tapped to direct the World of WarCraft movie. Apparently, back in 2007 the movie got slated for a ’09 release with 100 million dollar budget. With Sam Raimi on board expect the budget it to be around 150 million and the word trilogy to be thrown around like CRAZY soon enough. AICN had the exclusive on this and they said to “look for it to appear in the “real news” in a few days.”

The idea of a WoW movie sounded awful to me yesterday but with Sam Raimi on board my feelings are now very much mixed. I am not sure if he still has the balls to do it all violent and awesome. But if Bruce Campbell is the Lich King all would be right in the world.

Yes Sam Raimi was awesome. WAS. If THAT Sam Raimi shows up for this movie then we will all cream our pants five ways till Sunday. If we get a film that he is doing just for cash (think Spider-Man 3) and doesn’t have his heart in it then don’t expect anything from it. I won’t.

    No.

    Warcraft is a rich universe. The developers have sinked close to 20 years into the lore at this point. There is a lot there. I just don’t see Sam doing it justice.

    I also don’t know that I want to see a Warcraft movie either. For some reason Uwe Butthole comes to mind and I shudder uncontrolablly. Then I hurrily pull up a LoLPaul and the world is right. Except for LoLPaul with a rack. That shit is wrong.
