Look, I think the ESRB does a fantastic job rating their games. A much superior job then the MPAA does for movies. I also think the new iPhone app giving people (parents) an easy way to get detailed descriptions on games while on the go is the right move. In fact, it probably has taken too long for such an app to come along. All that being said this PSA for me is just a bit off. It isn’t as bad as those “you wouldn’t steal a candy bar” anti-piracy ad’s that are just plain insulting. To me, the tone of the PSA is just off. It’s hard for me to put my finger on it. In any case I’m glad they are doing something like this. And it looks like Wal-Mart maybe partnering with them (or even behind it). I just hope this is the first step in a campaign to educate parents on the ratings and make them better consumers.
