Chauk it up to another Wii title to keep an eye on. If you own the guitar controller for the Wii (all 3 of you) and it’s just sitting there collecting dust in the corner (again, all 3 of you) then it’s time to brush it off and get ready to rock! Rock of the Dead is a budget title coming to the Wii which pits players up against the mindless hordes. By pressing the correct combination of buttons with the right timing you rock the heads off zombies and critters the likes of House of the Dead or more similarly, Typing of the Dead. Watch the video above to see what I mean.

Jess and I attended Farpoint Convention over the weekend and sat in on the Q&A with Felicia Day. She’s doing one of the main voices in this title along with NPH (Neil Patrick Harris) himself. The question was raised about the Doctor Horrible similarities and she stated that the developer was a huge fan of the series. Needless to say, my interest is piqued.

Honestly, the concept looks really fresh and is a much needed breath of fresh air in the rhythm game and rail shooter markets. It’s a shame I don’t own a guitar controller for the Wii, so I’m left to hope this will be ported to XBLA. Or Naz, if you’re reading this, Jess and I will be coming up to NY to rock this out in your living room, you Wii Rockband owner you. I knew there was a reason why we were still friends!

How about you? What do you guys think?

no, a BILLION people own guitars for Wii, but not anyone in the group of people who would want THIS game.

‘Bowling for Rock’ would be more successful I take it? Bowling with the guitar controller?

SIDE NOTE: Oh Bowie MD Rock and Bowl. How my youth was wasted on those late night lanes, drinking soda and trying to kiss girls…

    HA!

Wait what you never told me that story.

Yeah I think Paul should elaborate on his seemingly slutastic past.

I agree with Rick. The sales numbers on Rock Band 2 for wii, Guitar Hero 3 for Wii, and Beatles Rock Band for Wii were actually pretty high.

But I don’t really see this as a BUY for any of them… besides, as you said, those people don’t even play those games anymore and all those components are collecting dust along with their Wii fit, Mario Kart controllers, Wii Motion Plus components, Wii Strap On’s, Wii Sword component, Wii Cross bow, and blah….
