One Year Ago…

A year ago today Bonus Level officially launched. At the time I honestly had no idea how long this whole thing would last. We just knew we wanted to have a place to share our idea’s and to host a fun lively podcast. It started off as a blast and has turned into my favorite day of the week. We started off slow but in the last 52 weeks we have produced 33 episodes. The last podcast I was on did 5 episodes in 9 months and listened to by Mr. “Street”. Maybe 3 other people listened to it but thats it. Our first podcast which was recorded a year ago has been downloaded nearly 50 times and Bonus Level Radio 18 “I Can Only Think Of Men” has been downloaded 114 times and counting. Probably has something to do with the title though. But our average is getting close to triple digits with no sign of slowing down. We may fall down the rabbit hole from time to time but we try to stand on topic and actually talk about the video game news each week. This site also gave me an opportunity to share and have an excuse to gather hundreds of wallpapers for everyone. The number of posted wallpapers is over 250. Pretty soon there will be enough for a different background for every day of the year.

All of this is to say we have come a long way in a short time. We have lots of plans to improve just about everything. We are tinkerers by our very nature. In the coming weeks we will finally lock down the new record day for BLR. We have a few Guest Reviews coming as well as Pauls Final Fantasy 13 review which is going to be a scream. I also have two long form articles (which is to say rants to make Rick want to throat punch me) that I’ve been working on. But before all of that I just wanted to take a moment and say a big hearty thanks to everyone who is reading this. When we realized people actually were listening to the podcast’s and reading the site (the analytics are, honestly, staggering) it reinvigorated us to do better and better. So again, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU.

Lastly, while I’ve been talking for all three of us here I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks to both Paul and Jess. Without them this place wouldn’t be possible.
