As much as I love destroying things in new and interesting ways (where is my Kinect version of Boom Blox?) I very much love building things. It’s why I love Legos and to some extent Transformers. The game X Construction combines both. Sort of.

The game is very simple. Get a train from point A to point B by building a bridge. If your bridge isn’t strong enough the train crashes and the screams of so many innocents haunt you.

You are given a set amount of girders to get across. Some levels are easier then others. One level took me a few weeks and a bit of luck to pass. What I like about it is the game rewards you for being creative in your bridge building. Sometimes you don’t think a bridge will last but then it does!

I haven’t felt compelled to purchase the full app even though it is less then two bucks. Right now I am perfectly happy with the free ‘lite’ version of it. Maybe if they add in some more features to it like an unlimited girder mode where the object is to design the bridge with least amount of stress or how much weight can your super bridge take. Maybe even user generated maps or longer bridges? Regardless of that it’s still a great app well worth your time (see what I did there?).
